A letter home
You were a NAS child once.
You may not remember the date you started. But you remember the light through the windows, the smell of clay, a teacher who knelt to your height, the friend whose hand you held in the morning circle. That child is still here — held in seventy-three years of the same rooms.

Then: New Activity High School, Class of 1974, followed by the University of Bombay's Lala Lajpat Rai College. A vacation to the U.S. in Dec 1983 turned into an unplanned meeting with a Dean — and a full scholarship to Wake Forest University. I took the GRE that same week, said yes, and started classes that January.
Now: a 25+ year career as an executive and consultant across Fortune Global 500 companies in the U.S. and Europe — American Express, Accenture, ABB, Airbus, Microsoft, AXA, and Citi — spanning services, manufacturing, aerospace and defense, and financial services. I held executive leadership roles on global integration projects, with work permits in Switzerland, France, Germany, and the UK — a rare feat for an American-Indian professional at the time.More recently, my focus has shifted to advisory and investment roles in medical devices and AI, including CardioMEMS: acquired by St Jude Medical, and Athena Security (AI-driven weapon detection technology). In 2015, I co-founded Aschere Global, investing skills, experience, and capital in companies shaping the future.Looking back, the thread connecting a classroom in Bombay to boardrooms in New York, and beyond is the same one that scholarship represented: sometimes you take the opportunity presented — and build a career on saying yes.

My journey in education began at New Activity School, where the motto “We learn while we play” first showed me that curiosity and joy belong together. Those early years gave me two things I still carry: a love for words and the confidence to lead.
I was in awe of my then Principal, Mrs. Rustomjee, delighted when one of my favourites, Ms. Hira Bhesania, took the reins, and now admire Ms. Hutoxi Boman — another favourite. Each of these formidable ladies did so much more than teach lessons in classrooms; they showed me that leadership is about nurturing people, not just minds.
From the classrooms where I discovered literature to the cultural events where I found my voice, New Activity shaped how I think and teach. That foundation took me through 28 years at Jamnabai Narsee School — as Coordinator, Head of Cultural and English Departments, Head Mistress, ISC Coordinator, Vice Principal, and now Principal — guiding 3,800 students and 260 teachers. The school’s spirit of holistic, joyful learning still drives me today. Whether I’m writing, mentoring teachers, conducting leadership workshops, or traveling solo to explore new cultures, I come back to what I learned here. Awards like the Rabindranath Tagore National Principals’ Award and Principal of the Year 2025 are honours I share with the teachers who first taught me that we truly do learn while we play.

Philanthropist Marzy F. Parakh, founder of the Live To Give Foundation, has been a pioneering force for good for nearly two decades.
In recognition of his contributions, Marzy was awarded the Business Excellence Award for CSR by the Maharashtra Tourism Minister in 2019, and in 2020, he was conferred the Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Social Justice. Past recipients of this prestigious award include Dr. Anthony Fauci, Nobel Laureates Malala Yousafzai, H.H. the Dalai Lama, Kailash Satyarthi, Kerala’s former Health Minister Dr. K.K. Shailaja, IPS officer Sanjay Pandey, the President of Ghana, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and Baroness Caroline Cox, former Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Lords, among many others.
His inspiring journey has been featured on leading platforms such as Humans of Bombay, The Better India, and several other national publications. Through the Live To Give Foundation, Marzy has transformed the lives of over 15 lakh people by funding life-saving medical treatments, hospital expenses, and educational needs, making compassion and social impact central to his legacy (https://blessingsonly.org/media)
Building on this mission, Marzy is currently working on his startup BlessingsOnly.org an innovative charitable gifting platform that enables people to celebrate birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and other special occasions by replacing traditional gifts with meaningful acts of giving. The platform allows friends and family to contribute directly towards verified charitable causes, transforming personal celebrations into lasting social impact.

“
Ayesha Billimoria is a multifaceted individual with a remarkable career spanning athletics, coaching, and fitness. Known as the “fastest girl of India” in her teenage years, she represented Maharashtra as a professional athlete for 17 years and is a three-time national champion in the 200m sprint. Ayesha also trained rigorously for the Olympic try outs from the year 2006 to 2020. Served as the running coach of the Adidas Runners Mumbai crew, and having formerly captained the team, she has represented Adidas, Under Armour & Puma at both national and international tournaments.
In addition to her achievements in sports, Ayesha is a fitness influencer, model, trainer, an author and mentor to many aspiring athletes. She is the founder and head coach of her club, The Athletics Lab, where she trains adults & nurtures young upcoming track athletes who seek to pursue athletics as their primary sport.
Her book, Run! The Ultimate Mind-Body Fitness Guide, further highlights her expertise and passion for fitness.
In 2017, Ayesha launched "Project Fitgirl," an initiative to inculcate sports education and training for children in government schools & villages across states like Rajasthan, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
Fondly known as "Fitgirl India" on Instagram, she is dedicated to encouraging, motivating & mentoring women and young girls to embrace sports and movement as part of their daily lives.
